CHAP Boys Golf  - Spring 2023

We are so excited to announce that CHAP is hoping to revive their golf team and development program this spring!

The first step in this process is to gauge the interest level for the golf team. Ultimately, we would need (8) high school students who could each shoot 50 or under on 9 holes, or very close to it, so we could compete against other area golf teams.

The development program would focus on housing those individuals that couldn’t meet the above requirements and are either in high school, junior high or middle school, and would like to learn the fundamentals of golf primarily on the range with our team of teaching pros or coaches. The goal would be to develop them to the point they could enjoy the game more and possibly play on the golf team in future years.

Cost for each individual player would range from $100-200 for the spring season.

To participate, please email chapchariotsgolf@gmail.com by Friday, March 3rd with your family’s name, best contact number, potential golfers in your household, first names, ages, current grade and whether they would be more interested in either the golf team or the development program. If golf team, please also include their approximate score for 9 holes.

CHAP Boys & Girls Varsity Volleyball Season... plus Spring Training for ALL AGES and Abilities

GIRLS WHO'VE PLAYED CHAP VARSITY VOLLEYBALL... PLEASE CONTACT COACH CHAR ASAP (No later than Fri, March 3) if you're interested in playing a short Spring Season (April & May.)

BOYS ... GREAT NEWS!  We have been able to acquire practice court space for a boys spring varsity volleyball team!  Gym space is an extremely hot commodity right now so we are thankful to have found options.  Also exciting news, Coach Nicole Winter will be helping this season too,  along with Coach Erica Daniels if Nicole or I, Coach Char Schneider, are unavailable.  Both are exceptional coaches with extensive volleyball knowledge.  Thank you, both!

PRACTICES: Starting the week of Monday, March 27th

* Monday:  8:00 - 10:00 pm  River Terrace Church, 1509 River Terrace, East Lansing

* Thursday:  8:30 - 10:00 pm Lansing City Arena

(We are required to set up and take down nets at both locations.)

GAMES/TOURNAMENTS: Please be flexible with game scheduling since this is a new season!  Contacts and teams are being found, but at this time we only have one tournament scheduled on Saturday, April 29th.  We are hoping to play other teams, although many, if not most, of our games will be away since gym space is difficult to find.  Court 1 has some Fridays open so this MAY be an opportunity for home games.  Since this is our first spring season, our main goal is skill growth, learning more about the game of volleyball and making new contacts.

We are planning the season to end mid-May, hopefully with another tournament.

JERSEYS: CHAP jerseys will be provided.

COST: The cost per player for the season will be $175.

Please pay via Venmo:  https://account.venmo.com/u/Chap-Volleyball

Or send a  check  to: CHAP Volleyball, C/O Lyndee Hiller, 22957 M Dr N, Marshall, MI 49068

Capital Homeschool Athletic Program ('CHAP') exists to serve Jesus Christ, homeschool parents and their children. Our purpose is to provide homeschool children with opportunities, through competitive athletics, to develop physically, spiritually, and learn to display Christ-like character.

The CHAP Chariots Homeschool Athletics program was founded in 2002 and has grown to offer a variety of interscholastic sports opportunities. In the Fall, we offer a girls Elementary through Varsity Volleyball program and a Jr. High through Varsity Cross County program for both girls and boys. LA DRAGONS SOCCER

Youth Soccer Big News

CHAP is excited to announce that the LA Dragons soccer club has agreed to take over the leadership of homeschool youth soccer in the mid-Michigan area. The LA Dragon board is very like-minded with the CHAP board through their focus on spiritual development in a competitive athletic environment. Over the years dozens of CHAP youth soccer participants have moved on to LA Dragon Junior High and High School teams, so the transition of the youth soccer program to the Dragons is a very natural fit. The Dragons leadership is excited and well-equipped to move mid-Michigan homeschool youth soccer forward in a positive direction. Special thanks to Keith Hall, Mike Potter, Matt Rottman and JT Delaney, who have played integral roles in CHAP's youth soccer program over the years. You can find out more about the Dragon program by visiting their website -- www.ladragons.net.

Boy's Jr. High & High School Soccer

The Fall Soccer season will be here before you know it.    If you are interested in playing Boy's soccer this Spring,  check out the LA Dragons website, https://www.ladragons.net/home.  Registration is now open.
